A 1947 Ford Super De Luxe was Daniel LaRusso's first car, given to him by Mr. Miyagi as a birthday gift.

History

The Karate Kid

The Ford Super De Luxe is one of the vehicles that Daniel Larusso waxes when he begins his first karate lesson from Mr. Miyagi. Daniel waxed on the left door of the car along with the grille and its front lights, though he also waxed another classic car during training. Offered a choice of one of the classic cars as his 18th birthday gift and for obtaining his driver's license, at first, he tried to refuse, only to relent when Mr. Miyagi insisted he would be "hurt old man's feelings." He would choose this car and drove it to Golf'N Stuff so he can try to apologize to Ali Mills, having obtained confidence from Miyagi to find his "balance" in life. He would then take Ali Mills in that car after apologizing to her.
