  • According to Bob Dearden, writing for season 6 began in February 2023.
  • During Atlanta Comic Convention, Ralph Macchio divulged that principal photography would commence in late spring of 2023, stating that the month of May is the "pencil plan" to get started.

  • The total episode count for Season 6 originally had conflicting information. It was reported to have 15 episodes before the WGA and SAG strikes, which would have been the most amount of episodes ever produced in a season of Cobra Kai.[10] However, Hayden Schlossberg claimed in a Twitter post on December 25, 2023, that the season would consist of 10 episode with extended runtimes, making it the longest season in runtime.[11]
    • When Netflix released the episode count, they confirmed the fifteen episode count. Additionally, the season would release in three parts; July 18th, November 28th, and the finale on Feb 13, 2025.[12] The evening before the premiere of the first part, it was announced that the timetable for the second part had been advanced and would release on November 15th instead.[3]
  • The first episode of season six is written by Bob Dearden.[13]

    • On September 27, 2023, after the WGA strike officially ended, Jon Hurwitz confirmed they would return to writing Season 6.[17] He also said that most of season six hadn't been written yet.[18]
  • The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) officially voted to go on strike on July 13, 2023,[19] and the strike officially began at midnight (July 14, 2023). The strike guidelines dictate that "union’s 160,000 affected members are prohibited from all principal on-camera work — including acting, singing, dancing and stunts — on top of off-camera work, such as voice-acting and narration. Also barred is background and stand-in work, negotiations for future services and any ancillary work for a struck production, among other things."[20] Filming for Cobra Kai was placed on hold until a fair deal is negotiated between SAG and the AMPTP.
    • On August 17, 2023, Jon Hurwitz gave an update on Season 6, saying that they would get right back to filming the series when both SAG and the WGA got fair deals.[21]

    • The crew is aiming for a 2024 release date,[28] hoping to get the series out "ASAP."[29]
    • The series finale will be one of the longer episodes in the season.[28]
  • On October 17, 2024, Netflix released a set of first-look photos for the second part of the season via its Tudum service. Regarding the images, co-creator Hayden Schlossberg stated, "The first thing that you’re going to notice is we’re not in the Valley anymore. It’s a totally different environment. The competitive space is different from previous All Valley tournaments. There’s no crowd watching. This is a karate temple that they’re going to, where the only people in attendance are black belts or karate masters."[30]
