Edwin watching the All-Valley Under 18 Tournament

Edwin stands in the cafeteria where he witnesses Miguel defend himself against Kyler and his goons, ultimately winning against the notorious bully. Seeing Miguel do this inspires Edwin to join Cobra Kai, and he's one of few students who doesn't quit over Johnny's insults. During a training exercise to test their flinching, Edwin and another student fail and, subsequently, the entirety of the class suffers a punch. He continues to train with the students, even running from dogs in a junkyard. The night before the All Valley Karate Tournament, Edwin attends a party at the cliffs with the other dojo students, though Miyagi-Do's involvement creates friction. On the day of the All Valley, he hears Johnny’s speech about No Mercy and runs out to the chanting "Cobra Kai". He watches the matches and even celebrates when Miguel defeats Robby in the finals, putting Cobra Kai back into the spotlight.

Edwin betraying Johnny

Edwin and the Cobra Kai's go out for dinner after Miguel's victory at the All-Valley. He continues to have fun with his fellow students, despite scolding by Johnny and later, John Kreese, when the man arrives. He participates in the antics of the rest of the dojo, including odd training sessions, parties, and fights. During the school fight, he and Abe fight viscously until they witness Miguel falling off the balcony and breaking his back. The Cobra Kai's blame Johnny for the incident, as he teaches mercy now, and ultimately turn their backs on Johnny to side with Kreese.

Later that month, Edwin participated in the Fight at Golf N'Stuff, where he and other Cobras peer pressured Hawk into breaking Demetri's arm, truly showing "No Mercy". Shortly after, new recruits arrive at Cobra Kai and Edwin witnesses Hawk brutally beat up Brucks. With his new allies, Hawk and Edwin bully Mitch for losing to an untrained Kyler. Edwin continues to train with Cobra Kai alongside his fellow teammates including Kyler, Tory, Robby Keene, and newcomer Kenny Payne as the tournament is fast approaching. At one point, he and Kyler watch Bloodspot at a drive-in theater, alongside Kenny and Tory. He and the rest of Cobra Kai encounter the Miyagi-Do's while the movie plays, leading to a tense stand-off. Knowing they can't fight in public because of their sensei's deal, Miguel proposes meeting at the baseball diamond. When the Cobra Kai's arrive, Miguel turns on the sprinklers and drenches the group, humiliating them. During the 51st Annual Karate Championships, Edwin watches his team participate in matches. He celebrates when Tory defeats Sam in the girl's finals.

Edwin with fellow Cobras

Edwin would help fellow Cobra, Kenny, bully Anthony, who once was a bully to Kenny. He would still train in Cobra Kai under the tutelage of Sensei Terry Silver. During the Sekai Taikai initiation, he would demonstrate his skills and cheer on Kenny during the boys match. He was surprised that the Miyagi-Fangs won the girls fight and also qualified for the Sekai Takei along with Cobra Kai.

When the Miyagi-Dos and Eagle Fangs, joined by a remorseful Tory, break into the dojo in hopes of finding incriminating evidence against Silver, Edwin was among the Cobra Kais that went towards the dojo. Later, Kyler, Edwin and another Cobra Kai go upstairs and find Eli and Demetri investigating Silver's laptop, looking for something that would land him in prison. Kyler and Edwin are surprised that Eli had somewhat regained his former identity as "Hawk," with Eli snapping back that while he may have gone through several changes and moved on from his loss to Kenny, Kyler never stopped being the same arrogant and "stupid" bully that he always was. This triggers a fight between Eli, Kyler, Edwin and the other Cobra Kai. Eli easily gains the upper hand on all three of them. Demetri intervenes by kicking him. Edwin and his friends are then defeated by Demetri, with the latter knocking him out.

Once they regained consciousness, Kyler, Edwin and their fellow Cobra Kai go after Eli and Demetri, with Kyler pushing Eli so hard that the latter loses his grip on the tablet with the evidence they need against Silver. Anthony grabs the tablet and is protected by the other Miyagi-Dos and Eagle Fangs, who fend off the Cobra Kais long enough for Anthony to post the video on the dojo's YouTube Channel. Edwin watches the video of Tory confronting Silver for using bribery to ensure Cobra Kai's victory in the Tournament, severely shocking Edwin and his fellow Cobra Kai's. Silver arrives too late and attempts to defend his actions prior to engaging in combat with Daniel LaRusso one last time, witnessed by the Miyagi-Do's and the ex-Cobra Kai members, which ends in Daniel's victory using the crane kick to defeat him. Having had their eyes open on their Sensei's dark nature, Kenny, Kyler, Mitch and the other Cobra Kais remove their shirts and toss them to Silver, making it clear they wanted nothing more to do with Cobra Kai and they all abandon him and the dojo. An hour or so later, Silver is arrested by the authorities for his many crimes while Kyler attempts to take credit for Silver's downfall with Edwin agreeing with what he is saying.

Season 6 Part 1[]

Miyagi-Do Class of 2020

Miyagi-Do Class of 2020

After Cobra Kai's shut down, Edwin joins Miyagi-Do, where he begins to learn the correct style of Karate under the influence of the Miyagi-Do sensei's. He reunites with his close friend Abe and as the Sekai Taikai creeps up, he beings to train for the upcoming tournament. Edwin and his peers are thrilled to find out that the tournament is taking place in Barcelona Spain, though that excitement doesn't last long as the students learn they have earn their spots to fight in the tournament as only six fighters can compete. As the tournament draws closer, he meet's Sensei Mike Barnes where he, and his fellow peers are evaluated by the sensei in hopes of making it to the Sekai Taikai. While he put's up a significant fight, he wasn't one of the top 12 fighters chosen to compete. While Edwin never competed in the event, he cheered on his fellow peers as they root on Kenny Payne, Devon Lee, Hawk and Demetri, as they fight for their spots in the Sekai Taikai. He is shown laughing at Kenny, as the laxatives put in his drink by Devon, take effect and soils his pants. During the captains fight taking place at Miyagi-Do, He witnesses Miguel and Robby fight for the men's captain position, as well as Tory and Sam fight for the women's captain position. During Tory and Sam's fight, Tory confesses that her mother unfortunately died unexpectedly and witnesses her storm off. The Miyagi-Do students all felt remorse for what Tory was enduring.

Personality[]

Edwin is very aggressive and more of a follower more than a leader. He and the other students often carry out dirty work for Kreese and sometimes Hawk. Edwin's attitude costs him his friendship with Abe, which makes him more impulsive and reckless in fights.

His time in Miyagi-Do helped him better himself as a person and removed all the aggression and hatred he built up at his time at the Cobra Kai Dojo

Fighting Style[]

Edwin is a decent fighter with good amount of strength. He uses his body strength to overpower his opponents, though rarely wins any of his fights.
