"It sucks, but it doesn't change the fact that you turned a bunch of bullied kids into one of the most badass dojos this world has ever seen."
Miguel Diaz to Johnny Lawrence & Daniel LaRusso

"Eunjangdo" is the tenth episode of the sixth season of Cobra Kai. It is the final episode of Season 6: Part 2.

Synopsis[]

Daniel and Johnny use historic Barcelona as a training ground for their captains. But a cheap shot in the semi-finals sparks a brawl to end all brawls. And a fatal mistake will change the Karate Kid world forever.

Plot[]

In a flashback, Daniel LaRusso encounters his revered mentor, Mr. Miyagi, at the esteemed Sekai Taikai. An unexpected confrontation ensues, culminating in a heated exchange where Daniel reveals a long-held secret and, in a fit of emotional turmoil, incapacitates his sensei. Daniel subsequently awakens from this unsettling dream, a sense of unease lingering. He presents the official tournament results to Gunther, emphasizing the rarity of fatalities within the competition. His former adversaries, Johnny and Chozen, corroborate Gunther's account, and Johnny assists Daniel in regaining his composure.

At the hotel lobby, Zara is upset to find that her sponsors have dropped her, and some are even threatening to sue her. She blames Tory for exposing her. Meanwhile, Sam admits to Miguel that she met with Axel and he tried to kiss her, but she rejected him. Robby tries to apologize to Tory, but Kwon interrupts them. Kwon tells Robby that he's lucky they won't be fighting again. Tory gets angry at Kwon for losing to Robby because he got Cobra Kai eliminated, and also cost Tory her spot. Kwon counters that if they were still in the tournament, she would lose to Zara and she'll celebrate with Robby, which angers Tory and she pushes Kwon. Sam reassures Robby that after the tournament is over and everything settles down, him and Tory will figure everything out. Robby informs Sam and Miguel that in the meantime, they have a tournament to win; the latter adds that it's nice knowing Cobra Kai is no longer a threat.

Kreese honed his blade. He left his room and pursued Silver. He tried to kill Silver, but he was interrupted by the announcer. The announcer reminded the dojos to gather in the lobby.

Gunther revealed that one of the dojos had cheated. It turned out to be the Russian dojo Tiger Strike. Gunther informed Sensei Ivanov that his students had used performance-enhancing drugs. This led to the disqualification of Tiger Strike, and Gunther threatened to ban them from future tournaments.

This unexpected turn of events presented an unforeseen opportunity for the Cobra Kai dojo. Gunther then announced the semi-final matches. In the women's division, Maria would face Zara, and Samantha would fight Tory. In the men's division, Kwon would compete against Diego, and Robby would face Axel.

Daniel and Johnny once again found themselves embroiled in a heated argument, but Miguel intervened to restore calm. Kreese conducted training sessions with his students, taking Tory aside to help her regain her focus. El Serpiente reminded the two former rivals of their shared successes, leading to a reconciliation and the resumption of Miyagi-Do training without further interruption.

The training regimen involved Robby and Sam exploring various parts of Barcelona, where they practiced their fighting techniques and engaged in rigorous physical exercise, resulting in a renewed sense of energy and purpose for the Miyagi-Do leaders.

The tournament of champions arrived, and Gunther explained the rules. Back in California, Amanda and Anthony arrived with pizza, joining Bert, Nathaniel, and their other classmates as they watched the tournament from the LaRusso house.

The tournament commences, and Kwon swiftly defeats his opponent. Zara emerges victorious in her match as well. Robby faces Axel in the next bout, but he struggles to keep up. Axel, seizing the opportunity, pushes Robby towards the Cobra Kai students, and Kwon strikes Robby with his elbow. Miguel intervenes to assist Robby, but Axel pushes him to the ground. Gunther attempts to restore order, but Ivanov retaliates by knocking him unconscious. This triggers a chaotic brawl involving all the dojos. Miguel, Robby, and Sam find themselves entangled in the melee, each facing their own opponents. Robby engages the Cobra Kai students, while Miguel confronts Axel. Sam fights Dublin Thunder captain Cara. Kim Da-Eun and Chozen defend themselves against the Tiger Strike senseis, and Gunther manages to subdue Ivanov. Kenny once again proves victorious against the Redentores students and Devon helps him fight the other Dublin Thunder students. Daniel faces Dennis, and later, he and Johnny join forces to combat Sensei Wolf. However, Johnny abandons the fight to pursue Kreese, leaving Daniel to fend for himself. Fortunately, Daniel is rescued from Wolf by two other fighters who are engaged in their own battle. The binary brothers also find themselves embroiled in the conflict, battling the Tiger Strike students with the assistance of the Furia de Pantera students. After Maria says hi to Demetri, he knocks out his opponent.

Kreese finally confronts Silver and tries to bring out his eunjangdo, but he realizes he dropped it and the two fight. Miguel bumps into Robby and the two nod to one another before continuing their respective fights. Kreese and Silver continue to fight, and Tory continues her fight with Zara and some of the other Iron Dragon students. Robby sees Tory getting attacked by Zara, and he goes to save her. Zara is in disbelief when Robby helps Tory and he assures her that their relationship is not as close to Robby and Tory's. She fights Robby while Tory fights some more Iron Dragon students. Later, Sam saves Robby and Tory from the Iron Dragons students. Kwon and Axel then fight where he ends up finding Kreese's eunjangdo and picks it up to use it. Johnny comes in and saves Kreese from Silver. Daniel witnesses Kwon holding Kreese's eunjangdo and tries to stop him but Kwon unfortunately falls upon the blade after Axel blocks him, fatally stabbing himself and causing the brawl to stop. Daniel checks on him and discovers Kreese's eunjangdo lunged in his body, shocking everyone present. Afterwards, Gunther yelled to cut the feed as the screen fades to black.

Trivia[]

  • This episode is named after the Eunjangdo knife, the titular weapon that Kreese retrieved in the cave during the episode ''The Prize''.
  • This is the second time Mr. Miyagi has featured in a new scene in the series, previously by shooting a body double from the back, this time it's achieved using a mix of a recast younger actor and a CGI mask of Pat Morita likeness.
  • This episode shares some references with Rocky IV:
    • In the semi-finals between Robby and Axel, the fight makes reference with the match between Apollo Creed and Ivan Drago.
  • This is the first episode to feature on-screen death. The other four deaths were off screen (Tommy, Ponytail, George Turner, and Grace Nichols).
  • This is the final episode of the second part of Season 6, and the third and final set of episodes are scheduled to release on February 13, 2025.
  • This episode's fight scene — which lasts about 13 minutes — involving all dojos in the brawl, is recorded as the longest and most chaotic fight in the entire series, beating the school fight in the season 2 finale (which lasts about 12 minutes).
  • This episode shares some similarities to the episode "Plan and Execution" from Better Call Saul:
    • Both aired as part of the sixth and final season.
    • Both seasons were split, with these episodes each closing off one part.
    • Both end with death of a character: Kwon Jae-Sung accidentally stabs himself and Howard Hamlin is shot by Lalo Salamanca.
  • This is Bert, Nathaniel, Edwin, and the other Miyagi-Do students' first appearances in the second part of season 6.
  • Like in part 1, the final episode for this part of season 6 does not play the Cobra Kai credits theme and plays different music.
    • This is the first episode since The Fall to play somber music during the closing credits.
  • When Miguel says "Go" to Robby during the brawl, he sounds almost like Homer Simpson when he says "D'oh!".
