"Into the Fire" is the eleventh episode of the sixth season of Cobra Kai. It is the premiere of Season 6: Part 3.
Synopsis[]
While their students plan for life after karate, Daniel and Johnny clash over reviving the Sekai Taikai. Kreese reconsiders his guiding principles.
Plot[]
In South Korea, Kim Da-Eun and John Kreese are talking about Kwon's unfortunate death during the Sekai Taikai brawl. Kreese asks Kim about his family but she tells him that he did not have one and Dohk Sa has been his family ever since he was a little kid. She informs him that they have to be ready to face her grandfather's consequences after his death. Kreese says that Kwon's death is his fault and he caused it but Kim counters that they all caused it. During the funeral, another student then lights up Kwon's casket while Kim Sun-Yung and everyone else looks on.
Back in California, in West Valley High School, Counselor Blatt meets with Robby Keene, Johnny Lawrence and Carmen Diaz to talk about his progress at school. Shannon also shows up with her boyfriend, Jace to talk about different options. Johnny almost argues with the counselor but Robby and Carmen stop him. She tells him that he won't be able to graduate and that he needs to consider alternative schools since he might not go to college. Johnny, however, is embarrassed when he sees a photo of himself during his handyman days in one of the pamphlets.
In LaRusso Auto, Anoush and Louie are surprised that Daniel is back to his old self despite being haunted by Kwon's death in Barcelona. He also talks to Amanda about how Sam has a chance about getting into UCLA and they embrace each other.
Gunther Braun is having a massage when Terry Silver interrupts and talks to him about continuing the Sekai Taikai despite Kwon's death. He counters that it's been canceled but if he wants to continue the tournament, every sensei from each dojo has to agree. Kim Da-Eun and Kreese are talking and Kim Sun-Yung tells the two that he is okay to continue the tournament as a way to avenge Kwon, and he also tells them that since Kwon's life was taken, another student's life must be taken as well. He shows a forbidden scroll and then has Yoon demonstrate the move on Min-Seok and Chung-Hee.
Back in America, Daniel and Johnny talk about re-entering the Sekai Taikai. He tells his former rival that he has made the decision to not re-enter because of Kwon's death. At the Diaz apartment, Johnny is assembling his crib where Carmen makes him reconsider reentering the Sekai Taikai.
Later, Terry Silver is on his yacht where Gunther informs him that the decision to resume the Sekai Taikai was not unanimous.
Back in South Korea, Kim Sun-Yung makes a medicine for Kim-Da Eun where Kreese explains that because of Kwon's death, he has decided to also not re-enter the Sekai Taikai. Upset, he gives up his eunjangdo. Kim Sun-Yung then tells his granddaughter that if he wants her to take his place, she'll need to make a tough decision.
Before the anniversary celebration, Johnny is going on a test drive with Terry Silver where Silver tells him that Daniel should re-consider entering the tournament.
Meanwhile, Kreese then tells Kim Da-Eun about his past mistakes with Kwon and Johnny and that he is stepping aside to reflect on his experiences as a sensei.
Back at the dealership, Amanda and Daniel talk to each other about having to be together regardless of having karate in his life. Silver then goes to Daniel's house with Johnny to get him to change his mind about the Sekai Taikai. Johnny assures Daniel that they will beat Silver again. Silver reveals to the two that he's terminally ill and winning the tournament is all that he has left.
In South Korea, Kim Da-Eun finishes her grandfather with the same move they demonstrated from the earlier lesson. She then tells Kreese that it's time for him to leave and that he still has time to be a good sensei.
Daniel proposes a toast to celebrate his dealership where Sam, Miguel and Robby appear. They learn that the Sekai Taikai is back and that she's ready to enter.
