Reseda Strip Mall was a small mini mall located in Reseda, Los Angeles, California. It was also used for the newly formed Cobra Kai Dojo bought by Johnny Lawrence.
History[]
Cobra Kai (Season 1)[]
After being fired from work, Johnny Lawrence goes to the strip mall's mini mart to buy pizza. Miguel Diaz also came there to buy a Pepto Bismol as well. As Johnny left the store, he encountered a group of teenagers led by Kyler Park and Brucks exiting their vehicle to buy themselves beer. While eating his pizza, a homeless lady berates him for invading her territory and tells him to leave, believing that Johnny is homeless. However, Johnny encountered Kyler and his gang making fun of Miguel after leaving the building. Kyler, Brucks, and their gang then humiliated Miguel by spilling his Pepto Bismol on him before throwing him on the hood of Johnny's car. Johnny saved Miguel by beating them up only to be arrested afterwards.
Johnny would eventually reopen Cobra Kai at the strip mall with Miguel Diaz as his first student. One day, Daniel, having heard about the incident from Kyler, went to the newly built Cobra Kai dojo where he confronted Johnny about what happened. This resulted a series of conflicts in which Daniel threatened to close the dojo by having Armand raise up the rent. After the dojo got more students thanks to Miguel's fight with Kyler, Cobra Kai was able to remain in business. At some point, students started to leave Cobra Kai after Johnny had called them names in class. One of the students who quit, Eli Moskowitz, comes back to the dojo with a mohawk and is nicknamed "Hawk." Johnny had decided to enter his dojo in the 2018 All Valley Tournament, and was able to convince the board to remove the lifetime ban. After Cobra Kai won the tournament, John Kreese returned, having learned about Cobra Kai's return to the Valley.
Cobra Kai (Season 2)[]
Kreese had returned to Cobra Kai, and Johnny exclaims that he believed Kreese was dead, to which Kreese explains that he's not the only one. Kreese also explains that went away for a while and rejoined the army. Johnny and Kreese fight, to which Kreese has upper hand for most of the fight, but Johnny eventually turns the tables around and puts his former master into a choke hold, getting revenge on Kreese for receiving the same treatment back in The Karate Kid Part II. However, he recalls the night following the Tournament of '84. As he remembers the incident and Bobby saying to Kreese "You're gonna kill him!", Johnny realizes what he might do to Kreese. Unwilling to go own that road, he lets him go, showing mercy. Exploiting this, Kreese takes down Johnny with a leg sweep and delivers an elbow to his chest. While both are lying on the ground, Kreese's cigar, which was thrown into the trash, ignites and sets off the sprinkler system.
After Cobra Kai's victory party, Johnny scolds Hawk and Miguel for their unsportsmanlike behavior towards Robby Keene at the tournament. Then he forbids everyone from any more "pussy moves", and tells them they will learn to fight fair from this point on. As punishment, he strips everyone to white belts, and makes Hawk and Miguel do 50 pushups on their knuckles. Later Miguel questions him, and Johnny tells him that he doesn't want them repeating the same mistakes he did. As Johnny is fixing the damage done to his dojo during his fight with Kreese, his former master enters, apologizing for how he treated him as his student, and for what he did to him in the parking lot after the All-Valley Tournament in 1984, and asks for a second chance. Before he leaves, he presents Johnny with his second-place trophy which he fixed for him after breaking it. Being moved by Kreese's seemingly sincere apology, Johnny goes after him, and asks him to wait. Knowing he's managed to regain Johnny's trust, Kreese smiles sinisterly.
As time had passed, Johnny had allowed Kreese to watch his students train. Many new students turn up at the Cobra Kai dojo, much to Kreese's chagrin. The senior students begin goofing off in class (including Miguel making the students dab during warm-up), which made Johnny furious. This prompted Johnny to order his his students to climb inside a cement truck and turn the mixer themselves. Johnny Lawrence purchases his first computer and instantly after figuring out how to turn the thing on and access the internet, starts searching for “hot babes”, "wet t-shirt contests", Iron Eagle, Bloodsport, conspiracy theories, as well as a karate tournament on YouTube. Johnny gets annoyed by the ads, one of which is for Miyagi-Do karate.
As Kreese and Johnny decide that the ad requires some retaliation, Miguel informs Hawk that Robby is Johnny's son, after having seen a picture of him on Johnny's fridge while dropping off some home-cooked food. The pair approach Johnny about this, but it does not go well — Robby might be Johnny's son, but that does not mean he is okay with them cheating during tournaments. Johnny instructs the two to clean the mats for a week.
Demetri's best friends, Miguel and Hawk both train at Cobra Kai, but that place isn't for him. And it was confirmed when he arrived at the dojo after hours, believing John Kreese to a be a more amenable alternative to Johnny. After attempting to lay down the law and criticizing Kreese's tattoo, he leaves with a bloodied nose. Turning to Hawk for support, Demetri does not find much sympathy. “You know what snitches get,” he says. “They get immunity,” replies Demetri. Hawk is evidently fond of Kreese's attitude and his story about fighting in Mogadishu in the 1990s, but Miguel; who knows that Mogadishu is in Somalia, and not Rwanda as Kreese suggests, recognizes he's lying through his teeth and takes his concerns to Johnny. Johnny initially defends him, but his curiosity is piqued.
Cobra Kai, meanwhile, has new recruits. First to be recruited is hardware store employee Raymond. Although Johnny refuses to recruit him since the class isn't for adults, Raymond stated that he wants to join them since he is a fan of karate, not afraid to take on children and that his mom doesn't pay him rent before charging Johnny with money so he can join. The second to be recruited is a female teen named Tory, who has taken an interest to joining Cobra Kai after witnessing their performance at Valley Fest. Johnny orders Miguel to prove his skills to her during her first session. Tory and Miguel then spar, in which Tory wins with the sneaky underhanded tactics that Kreese loves. Seeing a potential ally in her, Aisha asks if she'll accompany her to the beach club. Some time after Tory joined the dojo, Kreese took over a demonstration at Cobra Kai. He says explicitly, “Just as they let their guard down, that’s when you strike the hardest.” Johnny and Kreese conduct a lesson together to their students about going "all in."
After the fight at the mall, Moon and Hawk get into an argument outside the dojo, and she breaks up with him for attacking Demetri. The breakup tips him over the edge, and inspired by Kreese, he goes and vandalizes Miyagi-Do, along with Mitch, Edwin, and Big Red. After the rival dojo is vandalized, Daniel races to Cobra Kai to confront Johnny directly, not knowing that Kreese, not Johnny, ordered the students to do it. After giving Johnny's students the low-down about who their sensei really is, and what he's teaching them, half the class leaves, led by Chris.
The remaining Cobra Kai students, meanwhile, are forced to do constant exercises in the hopes that they will give up the identity of the vandal. Hawk wants to admit his guilt to Johnny, but Kreese keeps him quiet, later insisting that they are all responsible, they are all Cobra Kai. Johnny, unfortunately, does not have time to stick around for the investigation. He receives a call from an old buddy letting him know that one of their friends is terminally ill; it's Tommy, and the rest of the original Cobra Kai members have gathered around to say their farewells. Johnny orders Kreese to keep an eye on the dojo during his absence. Kreese insists that the students will begin their "real training." Kreese tells Miguel that they will put Johnny "back on track".
When Johnny returns after Tommy's funeral, Kreese decides to take the Cobra Kai students for special training at Coyote Creek, where they are divided into teams and pitted against each other. After the training at Coyote Creek, Johnny talks to Kreese at the dojo and talked about what's best for their students. After having their brief argument, Johnny expels Kreese from Cobra Kai and tells him to leave. After Johnny removed Kreese from the dojo, he explains to his students that now Cobra Kai teaches one to show mercy to their enemies.
After the fight at the high school, a drunk and defeated Johnny arrives at the Cobra Kai dojo, and discovers Kreese training the students. Kreese reveals that he has worked out a deal with the landlord and renewed the building's lease in his name when Johnny was away, as Johnny had only been on a series of handshake deals. Hawk blames Johnny that his best student's in the hospital all because of him, he showed mercy to the enemy all because of him; and if Miguel dies, that's on him. Kreese then explains that because he founded Cobra Kai, it belongs to him and it always has, and it always will. Kreese also explains that he will never let his students lose even if they have to learn it the hard way. Kreese also says that one of these days, Johnny will thank him for this. Johnny then realizes that doing all that stuff he did up until that point was nothing more than a massive mistake. Johnny then bitterly says to his former sensei that if he wants Cobra Kai, Kreese can have it since Johnny's efforts have obviously caused more harm than good. Johnny then leaves in anger as Kreese continues to train the students.
Cobra Kai (Season 3)[]
Two weeks after the high school fight, Daniel goes to the Cobra Kai dojo looking for Johnny so that he can help to find Robby, but instead finds that Kreese is in the dojo. Kreese says Johnny's not there right now, but he will be back, continuing on about the fight. He says it was a shame, what happened, but he doesn't blame Robby, as "there's no such thing as a bad student". He remarks how it must hurt that the Miyagi name is being dragged through the mud, wishing he could see the look on Mr. Miyagi's face. Daniel is clearly stirred by this, but decides against fighting him, he states that Miyagi beat Kreese on multiple occasions. Kreese says that he will fight him, but that Johnny and Kreese will finish it this time. Daniel says that he won't do anything as long as he's around and Kreese finishes by telling Daniel that he knows where Kreese can be found.
Kreese gave a speech to assemble the Cobra Kai students, promising them they will strike back for what happened to Miguel. At the Cobra Kai Dojo, Kreese introduces the students to Clarence, who is a mouse, and then insists that the most timid and animal-loving student (Bert) feed it to a snake. This student is unable to go through with it, and Kreese asks for anyone who agrees with this student to raise their hands. Kreese then dismisses them and kicks them off the team for not following his advice. Hawk later questions Kreese about his plan, wondering if now is the time to lose students, but Kreese assures him that they need to strengthen their core if one of them wants to be the new champion in Miguel's absence.
Tory arrives at the Cobra Kai dojo after being cleared from probation, resuming her karate training now that her 'issue' is worked out. Kreese is pleased, and begins drills, starting with the forward strike back. Kreese tells his students that their whole life they are told to be good and that good is only a matter of perspective. He also tells them that they need to always remember that their enemies think that what they're doing is right, that their enemies think of themselves as the heroes and his students as the villains. He then states that they now know the truth in that there is no good or bad, there is only weak or strong, and tells them that they have now shed their weakness and it is time to show their strength. If they do that, he promises that he will make them unstoppable.
Kreese scouts athletes at the school to join Cobra Kai including Kyler and Brucks, who were Miguel and Hawk's former bullies. Mitch is matched up with Kyler to spar. Kyler uses his natural athletic wrestling skills to defeat Mitch despite zero training in karate. Kreese kicks Mitch off the team for losing to an untrained opponent despite Hawk's protests to keep him. Tory beats Sarah, one of Kreese's recruited athletes. Next, Brucks is matched up with Hawk. Hawk severely beats Brucks in revenge for bullying him. This sparked fear into Kyler, and even Tory is shocked by the level of brutality Hawk displays.
Armand confronts Kreese with eviction papers but Kreese refuses to leave, so Armand calls in his two muscular nephew bodyguards, Erik and Grigor, to eliminate Kreese from the strip mall. Kreese is able to defeat Armand's nephews. Daniel and Amanda get a phone call from Armand saying the deal is off, believing Kreese beat up Armand's nephews and Kreese takes the phone and vows even more revenge on Miyagi-Do while he also placed a live cobra inside the dealership as he threatens more "open season".
Through manipulation tactics, Kreese had convinced Robby Keene to join the Cobra Kai dojo. The day after, Robby spotted Kreese punching. He even thanked Kreese for letting him crash here for the night. Hawk and the Cobra Kais spotted him and told Kreese that he's not one of them. He said that the enemy of your enemy is your friend. Tory talked to Robby about running away and hating him for what happened to the fight and Miguel. She showed him the moves about taking all hate. Tory also asked him if he wants to come with the other students after class or run away.
An enraged Johnny arrives at Cobra Kai after learning about the house fight. He finds Kreese training his son, Robby. Kreese insists that three generations of Cobra Kai will “melt this whole snowflake generation,” but Johnny rejects Kreese’s offer to join forces and aggressively attacks Kreese, causing Kreese to fight back. The two have a big fight, as flashbacks of Kreese losing to Turner in their fight in Vietnam are being interspersed. Johnny and Kreese fight and both fight for the upper hand.
Kreese sometimes has the upper hand, but Johnny has it for most of the fight. Eventually Kreese kicks Johnny in the stomach and sends him against the wall. Johnny gets one of the weapons and thinks about stabbing him, but drops the weapon when Robby shouts "Don't do it!". Johnny then slips Kreese onto the ground and starts repeatedly punching and battering Kreese's face, making it bleed badly until Robby intervenes, trying to fight his father. Johnny tries not to retaliate, but easily blocks and ends up accidentally throwing Robby into a locker, knocking him out in extremely brief momentary anger. Johnny regrets it immediately and then tries to help Robby.
Kreese attacks Johnny from behind with a Sai and then after Johnny kicks the Sai away, Kreese puts him in a chokehold once Johnny's down, mirroring the beginning of The Karate Kid Part II and what Johnny did to Kreese at the beginning of the second season. Daniel arrives at Cobra Kai having learned of the house fight. He saves Johnny from Kreese’s chokehold and scolds Kreese for sending the Cobra Kais to attack his and Johnny's students. The fight spills outside and Kreese tries to stab Daniel with a large shard of broken glass, but Daniel employs the pressure point techniques he learned from Chozen and disables Kreese.
At Daniel's mercy, Kreese is shocked that he was able to learn techniques Mr. Miyagi never taught him. Johnny appears at the broken glass area and witnesses a disabled Kreese to which he gives a nod of approval to Daniel, meaning it’s acceptable to finally kill Kreese. Sam and Miguel arrive in time to stop Daniel from delivering the heavy blow as they believe it will cause him to become more darker should he kill Kreese. Kreese proposes they settle this long-standing grudge the old fashioned way: with a tournament. Kreese promises that if they win the upcoming All Valley tournament, he'll leave. Robby stays with Kreese, while Sam and Miguel gather behind Daniel and Johnny. The next day, Kreese makes a phone call to Terry Silver after recalling his friendship with him during the Vietnam War.
Cobra Kai (Season 4)[]
Back at Cobra Kai, Tory takes her frustrations out on a Bob bag. Kyler brags to his friends over being accepted into ASU, his option for Harvard, and pick of girls. Tory calls him pathetic, as they would have won the fight if he'd handled his business. He blames Hawk for switching sides, but Tory reminds him that Miguel just got out of a wheelchair and still beat him. He snaps that he's still here while half of the squad quit. Kreese overhears them arguing from his office. Robby enters the dojo which creates tension. Kyler doesn't understand why Robby gets to stay when he doesn't even practice.
Robby heads into the back room and is packing when Kreese chastises him for being late. He cuts him off as he isn't interested in being a Cobra Kai and just needed a place to crash for a few days and now he's leaving. Kreese offers to let him stay as long as he wants. Robby, however, isn't interested in being a pawn in the bet between the dojos. Kreese doesn't think of Robby as a pawn, but a king. He mentions that his father Johnny had all the talent but squandered it. He had the chance to come back but chose Miguel instead. Now, Robby has a mark on his head to show for it. He thinks Robby has more talent than Johnny ever did. Robby doesn't care about the trophy, though Kreese thinks the reputation of being a champion - win or loss - will follow him for the rest of his life. After all, Daniel and Johnny aren't the only ones teaming up.
During Kreese's absence, Robby is lifting weights in the back of the dojo. Tory remarks that he's supposed to use a spotter, but he doesn't need one. She calls him out for hiding during the LaRusso fight. He doesn't know what she was thinking breaking into the house, trying to hurt Sam, and then thinking everything would be sunshine and rainbows and she's lucky they didn't call the police. Tory defends herself as she's not straddling the fence like he is. Girls like Sam LaRusso think the world revolves around them because all she has to do is make a puppy dog face and say please to get what she wants. She still has Robby wrapped around her finger, after all. He claims that isn't true, but Tory wonders why he's defending her then. She warns that if he's going to stay on defense, then this dojo isn't right for him.
Kyler, Tory, and the rest of the students arrive at the dojo to find Robby ready to warm them up. Kyler remarks that Robby's not a member of the team and should get out. Tory asks why Robby thinks they want him, anyway. He makes a proposition - if anyone can land a hit on him he'll leave. Kyler instantly takes him up on the offer, but a simple front-kick from Robby puts him down. The other students take turns attacking Robby, but he easily subdues them with the defensive techniques he learned from Daniel coming into use. He squares off again with Kyler and another student, before Tory jumps in. He flips her to the mat and asks for no hard feelings. She kicks him in the face and he falls. He's ready to honor their deal, but she tells him to stay.
Robby explains to the Cobra Kai's that their enemies are working together to beat them. They think they're better than Cobra Kai's - he knows because he was one of Daniel's students. But that stops today. He didn't want to join Cobra Kai but he had to look in the mirror and realize who he was. Robby adds it's not how you start but how you finish. To beat the enemy, they have to know the enemies' playbook. He's going to do that by teaching them Miyagi-Do karate so they can beat Miyagi-Do karate. He turns to Kreese, stating the students are warmed up for him.
Robby teaches Miyagi-Do to the Cobra Kai's, acknowledging how difficult it is to learn. The precise blocks stop a specific attack. Robby demonstrates with Tory, who blocks his punches. Kreese adds that their whole style is reactive so they have counter moves and they can use Cobra Kai to set traps. Robby demonstrates by having Tory "paint the fence" then use her lowered guard to sweep her to the mat. He apologizes as its part of the lesson but she angrily flips him over, mounts, and prepares to deal the finishing blow when Kreese stops her. Upset, he calls her into his office and tells Robby to continue the lesson.
Kreese and Tory discuss what's going on with her, and she eventually lowers her guard enough to admit she lost her job, and is having trouble finding another while on probation. He asks if she feels sorry for herself. Kreese explains that when something bad happens, you have two choices - let it tear you down or build you up. He looks at a photo of him, Silver, and a man from Vietnam. He wisely reveals that a step backwards can open a new path. After, he asks what really happened.
Kenny Payne arrives at the Cobra Kai Dojo when Kreese asks if he can help the boy. Kenny admits he's looking for Robby Keene, so Kreese calls Robby over. He introduces himself as the younger brother of Shawn Payne much to Robby's surprise. His brother isn't out yet, and there's some kids at school bullying him - one even knows karate. Kreese informs Kenny that he's interrupting the class, but Kenny didn't know that. Robby vouches for Shawn's fighting skills, so Kreese tests Kenny to see if he's worthy of Cobra Kai's teachings.
Kenny tries to prove his worth by fighting Kyler. Kenny flinches away from the fight and backs away from the attacks. The class laughs at him, though Kreese doesn't find it funny. He explains that the All Valley Karate Tournament is a couple months and they don't have time for losers or cowards. As a result, Kenny leaves the dojo while Robby watches.
Kreese ends class, and when his students are gone, Silver enters. He tells Kreese to turn around. Silver was living a happy life until Kreese messed with his head and dredged up the past. Kreese thinks if his visit bothered him so much, then he has unresolved issues. Silver insists he's over his issues. Kreese wonders if Silver locked up the memories so tight he forgot who he is, but Silver corrects that he isn't that person anymore. Kreese wonders why Silver's doing there, calling him out for living in some happy ending nonsense. Silver removes his shoes and walks onto the mat, wishing Kreese had let sleeping dogs lie.
However, when Silver tells him that other senseis in the valley could help him win his karate war, Kreese counters saying he doesn't trust anyone in the world as much as he trusts Silver. Silver is adamant this isn't his fight anymore, but Kreese knows he wouldn't be standing there if he believed that. Silver insists he doesn't miss anything, though Kreese calls him out on it. He calls his friend rusty but Silver expertly deploys a front kick and uppercut, barely missing Kreese, who praises his friend. Kreese reminds him that not all of the memories were bad, but they got through the bad ones together. He wants to finish what they started, but the choice is Silver's. Still reluctant, Silver silently leaves the dojo.
Kyler flips a student while Kreese applauds him. Kenny arrives as he wants another shot, though Kreese refuses. Robby tells him to give Kenny another shot as he might surprise everyone. Kreese tells Kyler to make it quick. Kenny squares off and skitters backward again. Kyler mocks him and Kenny sees everyone laughing, mixed with Robby's disapproval. He angers and lunges to punch Kenny in the face. Tory amends him for being fast but Kyler lashes out as Kenny hit him when he wasn't looking. Kreese knows that won't count as a point, though Kenny apologizes as he didn't know the rules. As Kenny is about to leave, Robby nods to Kreese for approval and gives Kenny a spot.
Kyler invites Robby and Tory to see Bloodsport at the drive-in, but Tory might have to work late. Robby asks where she's working but she snaps it isn't his business. Kenny comes in looking depleted. Robby inquires so Kenny reveals that the older kids from the high school were messing with him and should quit Cobra Kai. He had spiky red hair. Knowing that it's Hawk, Tory adds that they owe him payback. Kreese calls class together and announces his partnership with Terry Silver, the co-founder of Cobra Kai. They bow to one another before telling everyone to give 200% so they can go to the next level. Robby and Kenny are training where Kenny asks about dealing with Hawk. The two are about to spar but Terry Silver comes in his place and spars with Robby. However, Silver defeats Robby and tells him to channel his anger.
Kreese overhears his students talk about the incident and explains the rivalry between Cobra Kai, Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang. He wants to get revenge for the sprinkler incident but Silver refuses. He explains he came back to bring back glory to Cobra Kai and learn from their mistakes. Silver also explains how Kreese had glory but squandered it on his rivalry with Miyagi-Do. Kreese explains how Mr. Miyagi beat up Johnny and his classmates during the Halloween dance and came to class injured and tells him about how Mr. Miyagi wasn't getting off lightly. Silver mentions that Cobra Kai isn't about revenge and that if they revisit the past, history will repeat itself.
During warm ups, Robby explains that he and Tory are the strong fighters but they can't violate probation. After a confrontation with Daniel and Johnny, Terry explains to the students that there will be no more fighting until the tournament. Tory gets upset but Kreese then tells them to never show mercy. Silver then adds that they need to store their anger and save it when they're ready. During training, Silver talks about discipline and they need to receive it. He tells them that he understands how badly they want to defeat Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang but Silver explains that they need to focus on their training.
Cobra Kai learns of the updates of the 2019 All Valley Tournament. Terry and Kreese are excited about the updates and says that they'll win the tournament even before it happened. New gear comes in and Terry says it'll help promote them with Kreese saying they should add champion on the back. Tory arrives at Cobra Kai where her Aunt Kandace approaches her. She asked about her mom's disability check but Tory counters saying that she needs that money. She praises her quick-temper and changes her choice of words. Kandace reminds her that she is only person who can be a legal guardian for her little brother. She also tells her that she is also a criminal and knows how the process goes. The conversation ends where her aunt states that she'll lose the case and get ready for her mom's funeral. With the tournament close by, Terry Silver is able to recruit newer students for the dojo such as Piper Elswith and a few other female students, and that the new gear he ordered are mostly T-shirts, sweatshirts, tank tops, sports bra's, shorts, and jogging pants from Champion rather than the standard karate gi.
Robby is at the Reseda convenience store where his former sensei Daniel approaches him. He shows his prescience as he already knows what Daniel is going to say to him. Daniel has said that stuff before and tells him that now it's time to change. He heard about his incident with Eli and that Sensei Terry Silver's teachings can put him down a bad path and corrupt him. Terry approaches Daniel and tells him to respect Robby's decision. Daniel chastises him saying that Silver is not a sensei and how manipulative he is. However, Silver tells him that he never turned him into anything and Daniel reminds him about how he tortured him. They end their conversation with Terry saying that Daniel won't admit there is still Cobra Kai in him and Daniel says to settle things in the tournament.
Before Cobra Kai starts class, Kenny is practicing where he tells Robby about how Anthony stole his hoodie and tells him he is ready to fight them. Robby tells him that he got expelled and sent to juvenile hall and warns Kenny saying he needs to be smarter than him and Shawn. Silver and Kreese come and in talk about weakness and how to exploit it. The two begin a sparring match where they pick students and whoever won gets a 6-pack of beer.
Kreese and Silver pick Robby and Kenny to spar with each other. Kenny tells Silver that Robby doesn't have a weakness but tells him that everyone has a weakness. Kreese tells Robby to stop playing around and defeat him. The two try again and Kenny wins with a leg sweep, causing Silver to win the whole sparring match. He explains that their opponents' thoughts are key in different situations and to make them think about what they want them to think. Silver tells Kreese that he owes him beer.
The next day, Kreese sticks to his promise and gets Silver a 6-pack of 333 beer. Kreese and Silver reminisce about an old soldier but Terry didn't want to talk about it. Despite sticking to his promise, Kreese doesn't show his appreciation to Silver when they recap their lesson about weakness. He adds that Silver talked about him and what Kreese's weakness is. Silver counters that it was a lesson but Kreese counters that he is nervous to tell him. Kreese brings up the time they were imprisoned in Vietnam and stood up for Terry to fight Captain Turner and saved him and the other troops. He takes a beer and tells Silver to get back on track and follow his lead.
Kyler explains his plans for the prom and Robby asks Tory if she's going but she isn't keen on it. Kreese and Silver teach the students their own version about balance how to throw their opponents off. Robby and Tory spar and tells her to go and changes her mind, saying she can go with him. Silver hears the conversation and tells the two they need to go in style. Stingray arrives at the dojo but Kreese insults him in front of the class and orders him to leave the dojo.
Johnny goes to Cobra Kai where Terry Silver calls him. While watching through the security camera, Terry calls him about breaking in and Johnny tells him to stay away from Robby. He tells Johnny that he's going to take care of Robby and calls Shannon special. Johnny threatens to beat them up and Silver tells him to go to a familiar street: Magnolia and Lankershim which is the location of the old dojo. After a duel between Johnny and Terry at the old dojo, Terry is drinking where Stingray approaches him. He asks him if he wants to join the dojo but refuses. Despite being drunk, Terry beats him up.
As the All Valley Tournament nears, Kreese and Silver continue to train their students, as they are using exercise equipment in the back of the dojo. After class, Robby and Tory spar and Tory gets the upper hand, which allows Tory to go on top of a smiling Robby.
After Cobra Kai's victory at the All Valley Tournament, Johnny goes to the now abandoned Cobra Kai dojo where he sees the mantra on the wall. Robby visits him and tells him that they will be relocating to other locations. He praises his performance and tells him to not get upset about his loss. His son didn't visit him for that but he tearfully explains that his mentorship with Kenny turned him corrupt and his time at Cobra Kai made everything worse for him despite the win. Johnny praises Robby about his relationship with Daniel and tells him to blame him for getting in the way but Robby tells him he's done blaming him for everything. In the end, Robby hugs his father and the two reconcile. Unbeknownst to Johnny, Robby, and the rest, Terry Silver bribed the referee to ensure Cobra Kai would win the tournament, and that he has decided to frame Kreese for beating up Stingray so he can take over Cobra Kai himself.
