"Now!"
―Min-jun shouting in Korean[src]

Min-Jun is a South Korean sensei and one of the best among Kim Da-Eun's ranks who was called by Terry Silver to expand the Cobra Kai Dojo.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

While Min-Jun's background is unknown, it is likely that he learned karate under Kim Sun-Yung, and came into contact with Sun-Yung's student Terry Silver at some point.

Cobra Kai[]

Season 5[]

Min-Jun, along with several other skilled sensei's, which included Yung's granddaughter Kim Da-Eun traveled from South Korea to the United States upon Terry Silver's call to help him run his newly expanded Cobra Kai dojos throughout the valley. He arrives at the Topanga Karate dojo with with the other sensei's and Silver, where Silver takes over the dojo.

After Sensei Hyan-Woo is defeated by Chozen and Johnny, Min-Jun and the other sensei's arrive, which prompts Chozen and Johnny to leave. He is present, watching one of the training sessions at Cobra Kai.

When Chozen, Johnny and Mike Barnes break into Silver's house, Min-Jun attacks Barnes. While he is overpowered by Barnes, Sensei Bacaria knocks out Barnes, and Min-jun then throws him to the side. Min-Jun and the other four Sensei's attack Chozen and Johnny. Despite outnumbering them, Chozen and Johnny do gain the upper-hand. After Chozen leaves to confront Silver, Johnny lands hits on Min-Jun and two other senseis, but is soon overpowered and brutally beaten up by Min-Jun and the other senseis. However, after Johnny eventually regains his strength, he tackles Min-Jun to the ground and punches him in the face, and then fights the others. While fighting the other sensei's, Min-Jun recovers and grabs a sword. He attacks Johnny with the sword, who dodges, which leads to Min-Jun to accidentally chopping off one of Sensei Odell's fingers, much to his shock. Johnny then gains the upper-hand on Min-Jun by punching him and throwing him to the ground. However, after Johnny defeats both Odell and Bacaria, Min-Jun attacks him from behind and gains the upper hand. He then signals Woo to finish him off with the sword, but the two are caught off guard by a recently recovered Barnes, who knocks them both out.

Trivia[]

  • The spelling of Min-Jun's name in Cobra Kai is widely regarded as incorrect, as the name should be spelled, "Min-jun" or "Minjun". In today's romanizations of Korean names, which are used by the United Nations, the Black Belt Magazine and other media, given names that consist of two syllables are spelled without capitalizing the first letter of the second syllable.
    • Despite this, The Karate Kid Fandom documents the franchise as it is seen and credited within the fictional franchise, not by what is considered factually accurate in the real world.
  • MIn-Jun's actor (Dante Ha), also was the stunt double for Joe Seo/Kyler Park in Season 1 and for Xolo Maridueña/Miguel Diaz in one episode of Season 2.
