Synopsis[]
A shocking discovery turns Daniel's world upside down. Johnny schemes a way to give Sam and Tory their edge back. The tournament reveals their location.
Plot[]
Carmen Diaz is having her gender reveal at the LaRusso House. While setting up, Miguel and Robby are impressed with Sam and Tory working together and being friends. Amanda is about to confront Anthony about eating the cannoli but it was really Chozen. Later, a package comes in and Johnny and Daniel freak out thinking it's either John Kreese or Terry Silver plotting revenge. After, Johnny comes in with a pink stained shirt, revealing that he and Carmen are having a girl. Daniel comes back with his face and shirt infused with pink stains and tells them he is still too old for pranks.
In South Korea, Kim Da-Eun is explaining to Kreese about her students' abilities. She adds that her training is more intense than what Kreese went through in America. During the training, Kreese watches Kim's students including Kwon Jae-Sung and Yoon Do-Jin. Kim explains that Yoon's family has trained in her dojo for generations and is one of her best students. However, Kwon defies orders and Kim forces him to clean her grandfather's bathroom.
Back in America at the Miyagi-Do dojo, Johnny is training Sam and Tory. While training, Devon analyzes their movements. She gets upset with how Miguel and Robby got them to become friends. Later, she approaches Johnny where he explains their sloppy moves and that he will get them back on track. Hawk tells Kenny, Chris and Nate his excitement about where the Sekai Taikai is going to be held. Johnny explains to Daniel that Sam and Tory are fighting sloppy and the Miyagi-Do sensei tells him to work his magic. Johnny tells Devon to tell her dad that she will be hosting a sleepover. Daniel tells Amanda that he is happy that Chozen will live in Mr. Miyagi's old house after the tournament is over. After he helps Chozen move his bed, he sees a hidden door on the floor. When he opens it, he finds an old box with Mr. Miyagi's old stuff.
Meanwhile, Kreese tells Kim's students about how Daniel LaRusso defeated Johnny Lawrence in the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament. The reason why Daniel defeated Johnny is because he had heart. He asks the students how to defeat an opponent but after Kwon interrupts Yoon and makes a slick comment, he then tells him that because of his rebelliousness, he will show him how serious he can be.
Sam and Tory arrive at Devon's house where they find out that she is hosting a slumber party. Johnny Lawrence explains to Devon that the event is a way for them to try to get them back on track, much to their reluctance. He tells Devon about Ali's sleepovers and hopes it will be the same.
At the Miyagi-Do dojo, Daniel looks at Mr. Miyagi's old stuff where he learns big things about him. He learned that he was a boxer and his passport has an old address. Amanda suggests to go to that address.
In South Korea, Kreese has the students walk laps while carrying bags. Yoon is upset with Kwon's constant rebelliousness and pushes him down. Seeing that it will escalate further, Kreese ends the lesson.
Back at Devon's house, despite Johnny trying his best to get Tory and Sam to start arguing by provoking them, the sleepover goes well and the chemistry between the two and Devon is developing well.
Daniel, Amanda and Chozen arrive at a boxing gym. When they arrive, one of the boxers flee, thinking that Daniel is a police officer. Once Chozen captures him, Daniel shows him Mr. Miyagi's passport and it rang a bell with him.
When Sam and Tory are talking, both of their phones start to act strange. Sam's phone rings and sees that Robby is calling her. After, Tory then gets a text from Miguel that says, "Hola, Mamacita. How about you drop the zero and get with the hero?". The two eventually find out that Johnny stole Robby and Miguel's phones to try and mess with them. Sam and Tory confront Johnny and Devon about the whole situation and decide to leave the Lee residence.
Kwon confronts Kreese about how the other students are trying to get mad at him. Kreese counters saying that if he keeps his rebellion and combines it with his strength, he will be a strong fighter and contender at the Sekai Taikai. To prove that, he confronts Yoon and his other classmates and fights them. After Kwon defeats Yoon, he takes his patch. However, Kim sees the confrontation and is disappointed.
Back at the boxing gym, the boxer then explains how his grandfather and Mr. Miyagi had a good relationship. He also explains that the reason why he had a fake document because he could've been hiding something. Chozen explains that Miyagi left Okinawa for America but the boxer said he fled from America. Despite their efforts, the boxer leaves them.
Sam and Tory are about to leave Devon's house. While waiting for their Uber drivers, Sam and Tory argue about their past actions. Sam then apologizes for how she treated her, and Tory also expresses her regret about her actions and apologizes to Sam. The two hug and reconcile their friendship, much to Johnny's disappointment.
At Miyagi-Do, Chozen tells Daniel that Mr. Miyagi is a good man but Daniel vents that he hid this information from him for a very long time. Amanda tells Daniel that it's best to make time for their loved ones. When Daniel and Amanda leave, Chozen tries to book a flight to Okinawa.
The next day in South Korea, Kreese tells the students that if they want to defeat their opponents, they have to let out all their hate and Kwon adds that they will show them no mercy. Kim is impressed with Kreese straightening out Kwon and he tells her that they are still missing something that will complete the dojo.
Back at Miyagi-Do, Sam and Tory's fighting skills are back on track and Devon reveals that their friendliness with each other was making them sloppy. Daniel then talks to a portrait of Mr. Miyagi about how he never knew about his dark past. Around the sparring deck, Hawk then shows a video of Gunther revealing the location of the Sekai Taikai. He announces that the location will be Barcelona, Spain. However, he explains the selection process and that each dojo would need to pick six fighters along with a male captain and a female captain, much to the disappointment of the students.

Trivia[]
- This is the second time Johnny has ended a rivalry with the first being Miguel and Robby.
- This is the first episode Ralph Macchio has directed.
- Plot hole: Daniel says Mr. Miyagi was born in 1924, but his gravestone (which Daniel often visits) states he was born in 1925.
- Daniel being given a package with a bomb inside of it resembles Captain Hook giving Peter Pan a gift that has a bomb inside in it.
- Johnny recalls the last scene of King Cobra when Kreese planted a snake in LaRusso Auto Group and has heard that Daniel never caught it.
- The gender of the baby is revealed in this episode: a girl.
- When Kreese tells Kim Da-Eun that there's one more piece of the puzzle to the new Cobra Kai missing, the next shot features Tory before her fight with Sam; this foreshadows Tory's unexpected return to Cobra Kai in Best of the Best.
- This is the first time we see Devon's house, though the majority of it is the basement.
- Sam finally realizes that she was the reason her and Tory's rivalry had begun, being that she never apologized to Tory after accusing her of stealing Amanda's wallet when the culprit was revealed to have been someone else.
- This is also the first episode where Tory gets emotional and starts crying, being very regretful for what she did to Sam, which makes her cry as well.
- After having a major role in the preceding episode, Demetri is entirely absent in this episode.
- "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper, having a peak of the runner up on the American Top 40, is heard during Devon's sleepover when she and Johnny try to get Sam and Tory to fight.
- The word Johnny was trying to spell when asking "What does Sam think of Tory?" while playing the magnifying glass game was "bitch", but lies saying he was trying to say "bitchin". The latter is a word used by Eleven and Jim Hopper in the other Netflix series Stranger Things.
- This is also a callback to the pilot episode.
- In Chozen's final scene in this episode, he tries to get plane tickets in order to travel to Okinawa.
- This could foreshadow his absences in the final two episodes for Part 1 of Season 6.
