Wu Ping (吴平) is a minor character in the 2010 remake of The Karate Kid.
Biography[]
Wu Ping had a brown Mohawk and a blue gi. In the tournament, you see him beat two people which takes him to the semifinals. He has a powerful kick which he used to beat one fighting dragon student. But unfortunately in the semifinals he loses against Cheng. In their fight at the start, Wu Ping did pretty well but Cheng blocked most of his hits which tired Wu Ping out. At their last round it was already 2-0 to Cheng and Wu Ping was losing the fight. At the end of the final round, Cheng sweeped Wu Ping’s leg and elbowed him leaving him in pain and out of the tournament.
Fighting Style[]
Wu Ping has a very tactical and fast paced fighting style. His fights back up this point, he manages to take down his first opponent with ease and then takes out a Fighting Dragon student with one heavy kick to the face, dropping him to the floor instantly. His fight with Cheng proves how good of a fighter he really is. He lost but puts up a great fight, sending many fast paced hits towards Cheng and managing to not get beat easily.

- Darryl Vidal is his original counterpart from the original film.
- He can also be compared to Xander Stone from Cobra Kai.
- Based on the fact that the two share similar fighting patterns and hairstyles, it is implied that he was the inspiration for Hawk from Cobra Kai.
